NUMEN® is the commercial name of the range of intravascular coils, manufactured by the company MicroPort and distributed exclusively by Angionautix, SL. They are indicated for the treatment of aneurysms and vascular malformations both in the intracranial territory and in peripheral arteries.

NUMEN® coils are made of platinum and are presented both in complex morphology (3D), with diameters between 1 and 24 mm and lengths between 2 and 70 cm, and in helical morphology (2D) with diameters between 1 and 20 cm. mm lengths between 1 and 55 cm. NUMEN® coils are available in different degrees of softness.

All sizes of NUMEN® coils are removable through a microcatheter with an internal lumen of 0.0165”. They are released by an instantaneous electrolytic system that is applied through a disposable gun called “NumenFR”. The union of the coil to the pusher system, release zone, is only 0.5 mm, allowing great flexibility of the system and therefore stability of the microcatheter throughout the procedure.

The special properties of its primary and secondary spiral (2D or 3D), made of platinum, give it maximum stability in the bag, maximum radio-opacity and maximum resistance to compaction. All references have at least one internal polyethylene filament that gives the coil the anti-stretch-resistant property, ensuring that the necessary deployment and repositioning maneuvers are safe and the integrity of the coil is maintained.
