TRELLIX® is the commercial name of the intrasacular embolization system manufactured by Shape Memory Therapeutics and indicated for the treatment of aneurysms and vascular malformations both in the intracranial territory and in peripheral arteries.

The TRELLIX® system is made up of a spiral-shaped platinum structure with morphology and sizes between 3 mm and 16 mm in diameter. This metallic structure is covered with a “smart polymer” patented by the manufacturer, which has the property of increasing its volume up to 2.5 times when exposed to an watery  environment (blood) and body temperature (36º-37º). All sizes of TRELLIX® can navigate through a 0.021” lumen microcatheter.

Features:

• This polymer, in addition to a volume-occupying effect, provides a framework for the patient’s blood and tissue cells to colonize and form a repair tissue and neointima that closes the aneurysmal sac or vascular malformation
• They are released by an instantaneous electrolytic system that is applied through a disposable remote
• The special properties of its spiral, made of platinum, give it maximum stability in the bag, maximum radio-opacity and maximum resistance to compaction
